The second half of 2026 has once again made Bitcoin one of the main topics for investors. After falling to $58,000–$60,000, BTC began to recover and climbed to around $77,000. However, it still has a long way to go to reach its all-time high above $126,000.
The main question for the market now is whether Bitcoin can return to $100,000 by the end of the year and continue moving toward new highs.
What Is happening to demand for bitcoin
Institutional investor interest remains one of the factors driving the recovery. US spot Bitcoin ETFs saw substantial capital inflows in August, approaching $2 billion in some weeks.
However, demand remains uneven. From September 8 to 11, the funds recorded outflows of around $463 million, according to Farside Investors. This shows that large investors are still closely monitoring conditions in financial markets.
The options market looks more positive. In August, demand for instruments positioned to benefit from a rise in Bitcoin turned positive for the first time in about a year. Among December contracts, notable interest is concentrated around $80,000 and $100,000.
What analysts are forecasting
Bernstein expects Bitcoin could reach around $125,000 by the end of 2026. Looking further ahead, its analysts forecast a rise to $150,000 in mid-2027 and approximately $300,000 by 2029.
Under a more optimistic scenario, estimates reach $200,000 in 2027 and $500,000 in 2029.
Bernstein believes that rising US government debt and the cost of servicing it could increase investor interest in assets with a limited supply, including Bitcoin.
Can BTC reach its all-time high again
Standard Chartered had previously targeted $100,000 by the end of 2026. However, after Bitcoin recovered from $64,000–$65,000 to nearly $80,000, it acknowledged that its initial forecast might prove too conservative.
If capital inflows into US spot ETFs continue, Bitcoin could return to its all-time high of around $126,000.
Changes in the US bond market could provide an additional factor. Easier financial conditions generally create a more favorable environment for risk assets.
Why a new bull run is not yet confirmed
Despite improving sentiment, it is still too early to speak of a full-fledged new bull cycle.
US inflation remains high, oil has risen above $100, and the yield on ten-year US bonds has approached 5%. The high cost of money limits liquidity and could restrain demand for risk assets.
In addition, the Bitcoin market has grown significantly larger. A gain of 100–200% now requires much more capital, making a repeat of the rapid rallies seen in the past less likely.
Which levels will be key
In the short term, the $80,000–$83,000 range remains important. Holding above it could open the way to $90,000 and then $100,000.
The next major target is $125,000–$126,000, the area of the previous all-time high.
A return to $100,000 by the end of 2026 looks entirely possible for Bitcoin, but it would require a combination of sustained institutional demand, inflows into ETFs, and more favorable liquidity conditions.
A new bull run remains a scenario rather than a confirmed fact. Nevertheless, following BTC’s recovery, the market is once again beginning to look toward six-figure levels.
