Unity Ads is a major in-app advertising network, mainly used to promote mobile games and apps. Since 2021, more and more media buyers working with gambling have been moving to the platform. Here's what they say about Unity:
CPI Payment Model
Unity uses a cost-per-install (CPI) payment model. It previously offered cost-per-view (CPV) as well, but that was removed. So a key part of working with Unity is finding the right bid to balance spend and ROI. Any media buyer would recommend starting with a low CPI during tests and gradually raising it to a comfortable level.
Budget Requirements
Unity is an extremely budget-demanding traffic source. You need to keep a balance of several tens of thousands of dollars in your account to achieve good spend volume.
Creative Quality
Besides account balance and bid size, creative quality also affects spend. Moderation is quite strict about violations and rejects suspicious creatives + standard approaches from other ad networks don't work. The best option is to create and test lots of creatives to learn what passes moderation and achieves a high CTR.
Scaling
There are only 2 main scaling approaches - duplicating successful ad campaigns and increasing the budget. However, the second works better because duplicated campaigns tend to have lower daily spend.
