A Policy ban is a type of restriction imposed for violating Facebook’s advertising policies.
Reasons for a Policy block:
- Non-unique or inappropriate creatives: Facebook monitors ad uniqueness. Simply changing the font or tweaking a few words won’t help. If the same creative is used more than twice on an account, the risk of a block is high.
- Problematic or third-party domains: If a domain has been previously blocked or linked to another Business Manager, a ban is almost guaranteed. Always use new, high-quality domains.
- Fan Page history: If the page has previously published prohibited creatives or texts, moderators may block the account for an unacceptable business model.
- Trigger words in text: Words like “earn,” “loan,” “Bitcoin,” and other flagged terms increase the risk of being blocked.
How to lift a Policy restriction:
- If the ad account is blocked:
- Delete the specific ad or campaign that caused the block.
- Contact Facebook support to request an unblock.
- If a campaign is blocked:
- Delete the problematic campaign.
- Create a new campaign following Facebook’s policies.
Resolving a Policy issue depends on the type of block — whether it’s the entire ad account or just a specific campaign.
